Kevin D. Smith was born in Lake Charles, but considers Baton Rouge home, moving to Baton Rouge at the age of 11, and graduating from Baton Rouge Magnet High School. He moved to Pineville in May of 2025 to serve as the Pastor of Palestine Methodist Church- A Global Methodist Congregation in Ball, LA. He has been a full-time clergy person since 1999, serving 11 Methodist churches across Louisiana during those years. Kevin graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University, and a Master’s of Divinity with Biblical Languages from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has done additional study at Perkins School of Theology in Houston, TX (SMU), Millsaps University in Jackson, MS, and Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO. Kevin has been a Rotarian for over 15 years in the North Monroe, Ferriday, Kentwood, Winnfield, Ruston, and now, Alexandria Rotary Clubs. Kevin is married to Jana, an elementary school teacher, currently teaching at Pineville Elementary School. Kevin and Jana have “furry children”, a labradoodle named Lucy, and 3 cats, Soot, Charlie, and Linus. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys watching sports, especially LSU sports, gardening (especially hybrid daylilies), fishing for crappie (white perch), and tying his own jigs and flies.
